POSITION                      : EPWP Fire Fighters (x121)

DEPARTMENT                 : Community  Services

DURATION                    :12 Months (EPWP Fixed Contract)

SALARY                              : R36 695 per annum

 

REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12, Fire Fighter 1/ Further Education Training Certificate Qualification in Fire and Rescue Operations,Hazmat Awareness , First Aid Level 3 or Basic Ambulance , CODE C1 Driver’s License.

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS: Fire, rescue and humanitarian services.

 

THE  FOLLOWING  ARE  TECHNICAL  AND  BEHAVIOURAL  COMPETENCIES:

Perform effective and efficient fire services,and respond to fire incidents in and out of the area of jurisdiction; Perform special services as notified; Perform humanitarian services, respond to all emergency incidents; Ensure effective and efficient fire preventative strategies; Ensure inspections of fire equipment. Any other tasks assigned from time to time by seniors in the District. Must be medically fit and healthy when reporting as per NFPA 1021, Must be able to handle stressful situations, Must not be claustrophobic, Must not be alto phobic, Flexibility.

 

THE FOLLOWING ARE TECHNICAL  AND BEHAVIOURAL  COMPETENCIES: Driving Skills, OHS Act of 1994, and knowledge of machinery and operation of equipment, flexibility, proactive and observant.
