Unilever South Africa is inviting motivated and ambitious young people to apply for its Automated Packaging Learnership at the Maydon Wharf Factory in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a fantastic 12-month, full-time, onsite learnership designed for individuals who want hands-on experience in the supply chain and manufacturing environment of one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies.
As a learner in Automated Packaging, you will be trained to operate and maintain automated packaging equipment, uphold stringent quality and safety standards, and contribute to efficient production line operations. What You’ll Learn
This programme focuses on developing both practical and professional skills, including:
Operating and coordinating automated packaging lines
Conducting mechanical pre-start checks and machine maintenance
Monitoring product quality and reporting issues
Maintaining high health, safety, and sustainability standards
Effective workplace communication and production line coordination
Key Responsibilities
As part of your daily role, you will:
Carry out general production line operations and cleaning tasks
Perform pre-start-up checks to ensure safety and cleanliness
Monitor product and packaging quality against set standards
Identify and report faults or abnormalities promptly
Prepare raw materials for production use
Promote eco-efficient practices and support a sustainable work environment
Complete all programme requirements including assessments and logbooks
Requirements:
To qualify for this learnership, you must have:
A National Senior Certificate (Matric).
OR
An N2, N3, or N4 Engineering qualification
